MagicBus, a YCombinator-backed microtransit service, needed to build, launch, and grow a vanpool management platform by building vanpool groups, supporting vanpool programs and companies and organizations, and managing shared vehicle fleets.
Research & Planning
As the founding engineer at MagicBus (YC16) I was in charge of building the vanpool management platform and growing ridership, building fleets, and adding new companies, non-profits, NGOs, and other organizations that provided shared ride and vanpool service.
Execution & Outcome
- Developed and launched the MagicRide vanpool rider app and website for finding, booking, and paying for public, private, and subsidized vanpool programs
- Created MagicBus vanpool management platform for organizations to manage vanpool fleets, drivers, and marketing programs
- Grew MagicBus brand through paid and organic search engine marketing, sales enablement and support, and in-person trade shows and events
