Splenda, a leading sugar-free sweetener, was losing organic search visibility for important brand keywords and high-intent “sugar free” recipes and healthy-living searches.
Research & Planning
Working closely with the brand team and content strategists, I created a multi-stage plan to identify critical keywords and topics, analyze search and competitive landscape, and finally execute content and technical updates to owned and earned properties to build authority and visibility for high-intent and high-conversion keywords.
Execution & Outcome
- Splenda-branded sites were audited and optimized to improve visibility for brand and product keywords for both English and Spanish-speaking visitors
- Launched “Sweet Swap” sugar-free recipe site that included recipe schema and ranked in top position for “sugar free cookie recipe” and other high-volume recipe terms
- Launched Splenda Truth site for healthcare professionals that included clinical trial studies and other data about the health and safety of using Splenda
